Prospect Spreadsheet Updates - May 1, 2008

David Regan

American League

36 Carlos Triunfel SEA SS B 3-for-39 in first 9 games, 10-for-33 in last 8. Also 4 SB and 0.50 EYE.

40 Taylor Teagarden TEX C B AAA promotion came quickly and he could be TEX catcher of the future, not Salty.

42 Lars Anderson BOS 1B B 10-for-23 in last 6 games. Up to .298/.394/.543 and should see AA by June.

46 Ben Revere MIN OF B Made his debut on Monday and is 2-for-7 in 2 games. Future leadoff man?

47 Elvis Andrus TEX SS B .260/.302/.310 but keep age/level in mind. 19:4 K:BB is the big concern, but bat is work in progess.

5 Rick Porcello DET SP A 2.13 ERA, 20:6 K:BB in 25 1/3 innings and lefties batting just .150 against him.

9 Wade Davis TAM SP A- That's better: 7-2-0-0-1-4 in last start. 4.7 K/9 is the biggest disappointment to date.

10 Jacob McGee TAM SP A- 21 K are fine in 19 innings, though would like to see the walks (9) come down.

13 Ian Kennedy NYY SP A- 8.53 ERA leading to talk of a demotion, but he'll probably get another couple chances.

15 Gio Gonzalez OAK SP A- Rolling along nicely until last start (5 IP, 5 ER). 21:11 K:BB in 23 innings.

National League

33 Ian Stewart COL 3B B LH batter but hitting 117 pts higher vs. LHP which is odd. He's in a 3-for-24 slump.

34 Steven Pearce PIT OF B Broke out of HR drought recently, but will need more than a .698 OPS to force PIT's hand.

39 Neil Walker PIT 3B B Took a couple games off to collect himself and then hit in 5 of 6 upon returning.

43 Michael Burgess WAS OF B 6 multi-hit games and 13 RBI in last 9 games. 0.33 EYE is the big concern.

45 Brandon Jones ATL OF B 0 HR in 85 at-bats won't help him displace Matt Diaz. Where's the juice in his bat?

6 Max Scherzer ARI SP A Wow what a debut - 13 batters, 13 outs (7 via the K). Touched 98 on the gun and sat at 94-96.

7 Homer Bailey CIN SP A Matt Belisle has been awful in two starts, probably paving the way for a Bailey promotion soon.

12 Franklin Morales COL SP A- He's been so awful that a AAA stint was in order. Don't give up, but it's just not happening so far.

14 Jarrod Parker ARI SP A- Went 5 innings in last start and has a 1.84 ERA. He could move as fast as Kershaw has.

22 Carlos Carrasco PHI SP B+ Ugly start last time out jumps ERA to 3.91, but 27 K in 23 innings is impressive.
