Pickup Recommendations:

Joey Gathright: Gathright is still available in many leagues. He is a must own in AL-only and deep mixed leagues. An injury to any of the Royals starting outfielders makes him a factor in shallower mixed leagues.

Fred Lewis: Lewis is a high % basestealer, 11 for 13, who is doing a good job since being handed a full-time position, 4/14/.279. He should be owned in all formats with the only concern being his low Ct% of 71%, but he compensates for it with excellent plate patience, 11.6% BB

Jason Bartlett: Barlett’s defense will keep him the lineup everyday and the 5 stolen bases in his last 9 games, including 3 in one game, hints that Bartlett may be ready to pick up his running game.

Lastings Milledge: Milledge may be available in mixed leagues. He does have some issues, not much power and a low 6.2% BB, but he can run, 10 steals in 13 attempts. With a decent 82% Ct and a depressed .223 BHIP%, he shouldn’t hurt you with his batting average, currently at .246, while providing some speed.

Tadito Iguchi: With little power, 2 home runs in 235 AB, and a low 77% Ct%, Iguchi wont help in any other category, but he can still swipe a few bags, 8 of 9 this season.

Scott Podsednik: With injuries to several key players, Podsednik has seen a big increase in playing time and he can still steal bases, 7 steals in 8 tries. He should have few more weeks of value in mixed leagues.

Jayson Werth: Werth should be coming off the DL within the next few days. He should be owned for his power, 9 home runs in 131 AB, but is also a hidden source for speed, 7 steals in 8 attempts.
