37 Beau Mills CLE 1B B .351 in July with 4 HR. May be the reason why LaPorta is still an outfielder.

46 Taylor Teagarden TEX C B Back to AAA, but his AVG is up to .236 and he's drawing walks so he'll remain in the mix for 2009.

47 Adrian Cardenas OAK 2B B Mark Ellis is gone after this year, but he'll have to compete with Jemile Weeks eventually.

49 David Cooper TOR 1B B 2008 top pick off to a blazing start: 1.001 OPS and 0.67 EYE between Low-A and rookie ball.

2 David Price TAM SP A 8-0 with a 1.92 ERA in 11 starts. Jackson and Sonnanstine have been better lately, but Price is coming.

4 Neftali Feliz TEX SP A 2.65 ERA and 17 K in 17 innings in 3 AA starts. May now see Texas as early as next year at this rate.

5 Rick Porcello DET SP A Five no-hit innings last time out but still just one K. Lack of dominance is worth watching.

7 Trevor Cahill OAK SP A- 7-0 in last 9 GS in 2007 and more success this year. Hitters batting just .174 against him.

8 Wade Davis TAM SP A- Promoted to AAA despite inconsistency in AA. Seven shutout innings in debut was good to see.

National League

38 Matt Antonelli SD 2B B .281 in last 10 G and still has a 1.01 EYE on the year. Don't give up all hope yet.

39 Chin-Lung Hu LAD SS B 4-for-10 since returning to lineup. Hopefully blurred vision issue was cleared up.

42 Josh Vitters CHC 3B B .344/.388/.506 in short-season ball. Just 2 HR in 122 ab, but consider the age.

44 Alicedes Escobar MIL SS B .335/.365/.438. He's going to force a decision between him and J.J. Hardy by next year. 25 SB.

50 Jason Donald PHI SS B .307/.384/.511 with 14 HR, 9 SB and a 0.48 EYE. Has a pretty good player ahead of him in PHI.

37 Colin Balester WAS SP B Tough last couple of outings for Nationals, so his spot on big league club is in jeopardy.

38 Chris Perez STL RP B 4.9 BB/9 gets him sent back down. Team wants to see more consistency with his slider.

39 Tim Alderson SF SP B 22 K in last 17 IP. Not as good as Bumgarner this year but 3.22 ERA in Cal league is still solid.

43 Jhoulys Chacin COL SP B Weird line last time out: 12 hits in 6 innings with 11 K. 4-0, 2.00 ERA since promotion to High-A.

44 Scott Elbert LAD SP B 2.33 ERA in 27 innings though 14 BB indicates he's not all the way back.
