Prospect Spreadsheet Updates - April 26, 2012

David Regan

American League

2 Mike Trout LAA OF A+ First 18 games - .400/.463/.600. Wells and Hunter? Both with sub-.700 OPS's.

3 Jesus Montero SEA C A .241/.259/.370, but then again, no one in Seattle is hitting right now.

4 Manny Machado BAL SS A Just .234/.333/.391, but 0.63 EYE is solid and he's a teenager.

5 Jurickson Profar TEX SS A First big test and he's scuffling - .234/.279/.417, but showing good pop and the hits will be there.

42 Chelsor Cuthbert KC 3B B 8 hits and 5 RBI in last 3 games - up to .276/.368/.345 on the year.

11 Manny Banuelos NYY SP A- Not a great start - ugly start #1 and then leaves next start with sore back and now on DL.

12 Taijuan Walker SEA SP A- 2.25 ERA and 21:5 K:BB in first 16 innings. Doesn't turn 20 until August.

14 Jacob Turner DET SP A- Four hitless innings in his return from shoulder soreness.

15 Danny Hultzen SEA SP B+ 0 ER and 14 K in 12 innings over his last 2 starts. We should see him this summer.

16 Jarrod Parker OAK SP B+ 2.18 ERA in 4 starts and now gets the call to replace Godfrey. Should stick for the year.

National League

6 Nolan Arenado COL 3B A- Just 1 HR in 63 AB, but .349/.446/.524 is still pretty good.

18 Gary Brown SF OF B+ 2 hits on Tuesday, so hopefully heating up - .219/.333/.366 with 3 SB.

23 Christian Yelich MIA OF B+ Back from bruised elbow with a vengeance - 1.400 OPS through fist 28 at-bats.

24 Yonder Alonso SD 1B B+ Off to just a .208 start, but he should be ok. Will drop off list due to eligibility next week.

29 Jonathan Singleton HOU 1B B+ 4 hits Tuesday leaves him at .377/.457/.689. 11 of 23 hits for extra bases.

2 Shelby Miller STL SP A 9 K in 5 IP in first AAA win, but walked four. Needs to improve control before promotion.

3 Trevor Bauer ARI SP A Surprised to see him promoted to the hitter's paradise in Reno.

5 Jameson Taillon PIT SP A 18:2 K:BB in 13.2 innings for former top-5 pick.

6 Tyler Skaggs ARI SP A- Missing a ton of bats so far - 27:3 K:BB in 17.1 innings.

7 Gerrit Cole PIT SP A- 18:4 K:BB in 12 innings, but 3 HR has hurt.

This is just a sample of the more than 70 prospect notes we publish each week for subscribers.
