Khalil Greene went 2-for-3 last night with a double, a homer, three RBIs, two runs, a walk, and a partridge in a pear tree. He's hitting .254 on the season with a career best 26 homers and 96 RBIs, but

Gary Matthews Jr. is expected to be back in the Angels' lineup sometime this weekend after missing the last nine games with a severe ankle sprain. Mathews isn't enjoying the success that he had last year-his OPS is down more

It's time to check out of the Dan Haren honeymoon suite. Haren fell to 14-7 last night after suffering through another poor outing and he's now 1-4 in his last seven starts. Haren allowed five runs on 12 hits and

The worst thing Adrian Beltre ever did was put together that monster 2004 season with the Dodgers (.334, 48, 121). Granted he made a lot of money because of it and I'm sure his family is thrilled, but he teased

Miguel Batista was solid again last night, earning his fifth win in his last 11 starts and running his record to 12-8, which, believe it or not, is the most wins he's recorded in a season during his 13-year career.

Luke Scott's dismal July keeps getting worse after he went 0-for-3 with two more strikeouts against the Cubs yesterday. Scott is hitting .050/.174/.200 in 20 July at-bats and he's now gone six straight games without a hit. In fact, going

But for the fact that Mark Buehrle surrendered a lead-off homer to Alfonso Soriano, then another solo blast to Aramis Ramirez a few batters later, the White Sox southpaw was brilliant, going seven strong innings (well, six strong innings and

Chad Gaudin's transformation from reliever to starter continues to be a success as he tossed another quality start last night against the Giants to improve to 3-1. Gaudin surrendered two runs on seven hits and two walks and struck out

It's good to be back...

Tomorrow's AL report will be my first of the season and I've enjoyed being back in the saddle again, but don't get too used to seeing me around. There was a time I was prolific at Fantistics (prolific as in

Mike Lynch has been a diehard Red Sox fan since he was old enough to know better and still can't believe the Sox actually won a World Series in his lifetime. He doesn't play much fantasy baseball only because he's too busy writing a book about the 1919 Chicago Black Sox and running an historical computer simulation league called Diamond Kings Baseball. Mike has won two Connie Mack Awards, given to the best front office executive in each league, but still doesn't own a championship ring. Although he doesn't have any college degrees in mathematics or statistics, he's been a fan of Bill James since the early 80's and likes to dabble in sabermetrics for fun. Mike is also a member of SABR.
