Zack Wheeler, Philadelphia Phillies - Goodness gracious Zack Wheeler is on a completely different level right now. Saturday he struck out 14 Rays' batters over seven innings, the third straight outing of 10+ strikeouts and at least seven innings pitched. He now has five straight quality starts with at least a strikeout per inning in each outing. He's pitching like a fantasy ace right now and should be viewed as one going forward.
Francisco Lindor, New York Mets - Francisco Lindor turned in a 2-5 performance Saturday with his fourth homer of the year. What a mess of a year it's been for Lindor in his first year in New York. He's slashing just .191/.293/.290 (72 wRC+) with expected stats that justify the good majority of it. Lindor has been more patient at the plate with a 11.9% walk-rate, the highest of his career by a few points. His batted-ball metrics aren't terribly off of what he did with Cleveland, but the consistency of his hard contact has been extremely erratic so far and is leading to a chunk of the issues. I don't roster him anywhere, but I'm still willing to hold him in leagues unless someone where to believe harder than me and give above market value in a trade.
Freddy Peralta, Milwaukee Brewers - Freddy Peralta tossed a seven innings complete game against the Nationals with seven strikeouts and just one run allowed. A big step that Peralta continues to run with is his control has taken significant steps forward since his first few starts of the season. After walked 12 batters over his first four starts of the season, Peralta has walked just seven batters over his last 24.2 innings, and four of those came in a 4.2 innings outing against the Reds on the 23rd of May. He's continuing to generate a ridiculous amount of whiff and if he's able to keep his control in tact he's turning in excellent starts. The trio of starters that the Brewers have atop the rotation is just crazy.
Magneuris Sierra, Miami Marlins - Magneuris Sierra went 3-5 at the plate with a pair of stolen bases to push his total to four for the season. The month of May has been a complete turn around for him as he's hitting .283/.339/.317 for the month, but the stolen bases were the first that he's had this month. Sierra has been getting some relatively consistent playing time with the Marlins and he owns a 91st percentile spring speed which could lead to some stolen bases totals if he can get on base consistently.
Logan Webb, San Francisco Giants - Logan Webb turned in a great first start off the IL with one earned run over five innings against the Dodgers. For Webb's first game back he threw 62 pitches over those five innings and struck out seven batters. He allowed just one hit and also didn't want a single batter. He recorded an absolutely elite 37% CSW and he had two straight quality starts leading into his IL stint, and then another excellent one coming off of it.
