Byron Buxton, OF, Twins
Byron Buxton continued his breakout season on Saturday, hitting for the cycle as part of a 5 for 5 day. He tallied one homer, one triple, one double, and two singles with three runs and two RBI. Talent was never the issue for him throughout his career, but his constant struggle to stay on the field made many give up on him prior to this season. The 102 games he played last season marked the only time since 2017 when the outfielder played more than 100 games in a season. Through 77 games in 2025, he is slashing .286/.350/.571 with 21 home runs, 64 runs, 55 RBI, and 17 stolen bases. The expected stats back up his dominance, as he's posted a .502 xSLG (92nd percentile), 13.2% barrel rate (89th), and 91.7 mph average exit velocity (87th). There's always a chance he gets injured again, but it's clear he's a superstar when healthy.
Julio Rodriguez, OF, Mariners
Julio Rodriguez filled up the stat sheet on Saturday, going 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, a walk, three runs, two RBI, and one stolen base. This was the second straight game with a homer for the 24-year-old. He's now slashing .249/.308/.405 with 13 home runs, 60 runs, 48 RBI, and 16 steals. Rodriguez has been a notorious slow starter throughout his career, and 2025 has been no different. His 30.7% whiff rate ranks in the 12th percentile, and his 36.2% chase rate ranks in the 9th percentile, which is the type of plate discipline that can lead to some very prolonged slumps. He still has some of the most tantalizing skills in the major leagues when it comes to his combination of power and speed, but he'll once again need to rely on a second-half breakout to deliver elite numbers for the season.
Eugenio Suarez, 3B, Diamondbacks
Eugenio Suarez launched two more home runs on Saturday against the Angels, bringing his season total to 31. After adding that to his 17 doubles on the year, it means that he actually has 10 more extra-base hits than singles on the season. He is slashing .249/.318/.568 with 56 runs and 77 RBI. This has been an offensive explosion for the slugger, as his 31 home runs are already one more than the 30 he hit in 2024, and he is currently on pace to top his career high of 49 home runs that he hit in 2019. While his .231 xBA ranks in the 14th percentile, his 13.2% barrel rate and 50.0% hard-hit rate both rank in the top 20 percent or better compared to the rest of the league. Suarez was being drafted outside of the top 12 third basemen coming into the season, making him one of the most valuable picks of the draft season. His outlier home run totals will give him a great chance to finish top 5 at the position by year's end.
Garrett Crochet, SP, Red Sox
Garrett Crochet had one of the best starts of his career on Saturday against the Rays, tossing a complete game shutout in a 1-0 victory. It was his 10th win of the season. He allowed three hits and struck out nine. Crochet initially struggled with efficiency when he made the transition from reliever to starter last season, but this is already his third start this season of at least eight innings pitched. His 31.1% strikeout rate ranks in the 92nd percentile, and his 2.40 FIP and 2.67 xFIP completely back up his 2.23 ERA. The 26-year-old has proven himself to be a top 5 starting pitcher for fantasy.
Brandon Woodruff, SP, Brewers
Brandon Woodruff struck out 10 over 4.1 innings in his second start back from the injured list on Saturday against the Nationals. He allowed two runs on five hits and no walks. While it was disappointing he couldn't complete a full five frames, it was likely due to a limited pitch count, as he still builds himself back up from missing so much time. He threw 81 pitches in the outing. His first two starts have been very promising as a whole, as he tossed a quality start against the Marlins in his first start back, where he struck out eight in six innings. His fastball averaged 92.4 mph and topped out at 93.9 mph, which is still a considerable amount slower than the 95.8 mph mark he posted in 2023. Still, he's getting successful results, and there's a chance that his velocity will slowly return as time goes on.
