Dylan Cease SP TOR
After much hand-wringing and bickering among fantasy touts, Dylan Cease dropped a deafening dozen Ks to open his 2026 campaign. We are aware of his ups and downs, and this is exactly what the ups look like: 5.1 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, and 12 strikeouts on 96 pitches. Oh, and he struck out 7 consecutive Athletic hitters at one point. Cease to remember that he's a stud? I think you recall the upside now. If you're nuts, trade him for offense at the white hot peak. If you like 200Ks over 150 IP, maybe just hold onto the mercurial pitcher for the long haul, enjoying the dizzy highs and the now and again dud. You can handle it.
David Hamilton 2B/3B MIL
What's going on here? Dude gets dealt to MIL for Durbin (along with Kyle Harrison) and is suddenly their starting 3B? He's already stolen 3 bases in two games, both of which he started at 3B. Hamilton has walked 4 times and managed 1 hit and 3 runs scored. Obviously he can't keep up this killing pace, but with regular at bats there is no reason he can't capitalize on his elite speed and gather 20-25 SBs for Murphy's high-speed Brewers. He's nearly a must-add in NL-Only, if only to stash on the bench so your opponents can't cash in on the sweet speed potential.
Munetaka Murakami 3B CHW
Two games, two long gone dongs for the fresh MLB rookie. His power in Japan was legendary and MLB pitching does not seem to phase the keystone White Sock. If you reached the extra round or paid the extra $5 you're feeling quite swell at the moment. It's early as all get-out, but Murakami is averaging 100 MPH Exit Velocity thus far. He's likely to find holes in his bat at some point, the power appears not to have been lost in translation.
T.J. Rumfield 1B COL
Rookie Rockie Rumfield keeps it rolling, going 1-for-4 with a home run in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Marlins. Rumfield let one go 423-feet off Eury Perez in the second inning. The rookie has now recorded a hit in each of his first two major-league games and could offer sneaky value with Coors Field as his home venue. Drool over the 6 foot 5 frame and the memory of his minor league slashline in 2025: 285/.378/.447 with 16 homers, an 11.9 percent walk rate. Run for Rumfield and hope the rookie rolls like thunder in 2026.
Eury Perez SP MIA
Perez threw 59 of 93 pitches for strikes and generated 17 whiffs, going seven strong in his season debut. The perennial fantasy hopeful delivered 4.25 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 105:32 K:BB across 95.1 innings in 2025 and showed some of the dazzling potential Saturday night. The man stands 6 foot 8 and throws 98 MPH on average, so despite his next start taking place in Yankee Stadium, set it and forget with Eury. Don't fear the reaper (or Judge). If you drafted Perez, you could be in for the year of Eury.
