Sal Stewart, 1B, Cincinnati Reds
Stewart went 2-3 with R, HR, 4 RBI, BB, K on two hard hit balls. It's been a rough June for the youngest, as he's slashing just .212/.328/.365 this month. I know there's a lot of frustration for fantasy managers, as Stewart's hot start to the season duped many into thinking he was going to be a season-long asset. I still believe he is, as there are plenty of things he does very well. Stewart still has a strong 14.6% Barrel rate and .408 xwOBACON. He's also in a ballpark that is conducive to him hitting homeruns. That's the good news. The bad news is that some sophomore slump is definitely settling in. Stewart is down across the board in every offensive sense. I do spot a culprit, however. His K/BB went from 26/5 in 2025 to 20/13 this year. The answer is that he's swinging 5% points less, and his zone swing is down 3% point as well. To compound the problem, his zone miss is up as well. It's tough to determine if this is intrinsic, or more ebb & flow. Either way, Stewart still has a high floor as a hitter, and is eligible for a hot streak at any time.
Cooper Pratt, SS, Milwaukee Brewers
The No. 63 prospect in baseball made his debut, going 0-3 with one hard hit ball. I'm incredibly skeptical of Pratt. For starters, he's only 21 years old, and while he was disciplined in AAA, he wasn't exactly performing. Productive 21 year olds in the bigs are usually blue chip prospects, and while many like Pratt, he isn't blue chip. Pratt comes into the bigs with a 14/13 K/BB ratio in AAA, which is independently a strong indicator. However, a .145 ISO, .322 xwOBA, and 100 wRC+ aren't exactly exciting, nor do they represent beating the level. Pratt might also be making contact, but he's hitting a ton of groundballs. His 50.6 GB% and 1.86 GB/FB ratio are simply too high. Pratt only has 6 homers in 261 PA's in AAA. The juice is just mediocre. He will need to prove me I'm wrong for 2026. Leave him on waivers.
Blaze Jordan, 3B, St. Louis Cardinals
Jordan went 1-4 with a R, 2B, RBI on two hard hit balls. Jordan became famous for hitting 500 foot homers when he was a teenager. That was long ago, so blink and we're here. He's a big leaguer now. I actually think Jordan has a chance to be a productive fantasy player in 2026. Jordan hasn't struck out over 18% at any minor league level since 2022. He struck out at only 11% across 544 minor league PA's in 2025. He was routinely running contact rates over 80% and zone contact rates over 88%. He comes into the bigs slashing .313/.373/.548 with 11 homers, so there is momentum coming into the debut. Don't write him off just because he doesn't come into his debut with big prospect hype.
TJ Rumfield, 1B, Colorado Rockies
Rumfield went 1-4 with R, HR, 2 RBI on one hard hit ball. Rumfield is slashing .276/.356/.468 with ten homers, which can play for fantasy purposes, but I'm incredibly skeptical. Rumfield has a low 33% HH rate, 6.3% barrel rate, 85 EV. The only thing saving him is a 23% Pull Air and 28% LASS. This is a Coors Field merchant if I've ever seen one. He's projected for 25 homers on the season, but severely lacks impact. The good news is that he bats in front of Hunter Goodman, and Mickey Moniak will probably bat in front of him when he's back, so there is some reason to believe we'll get counting stats. Rumfield is a replacement player at best.
Henry Bolte, OF, Athletics
Bolte went 0-4 with 3 K on the day. On the surface, Bolte is slashing .313/.385/.396 with a homer and 6 SB. It feels productive for just 109 PA, but I have real concerns. Bolte came into the bigs with contact concerns in the minors and we are seeing some of that already. His 27.6% K rate, 33% whiff rate, and 32% chase rate leave very little margin for error. Just as an example, he's making such little contact right now, but still has a 77 bat speed, one of the best in the bigs, and a 49% HH rate. Yet, his xwOBA is only .282 and his xSLG is only .308. He's also pummeling the ball into the ground (665.6% GB rate). Sell Sell Sell.
