David Regan

American League

2 Brandon Wood LAA 3B Signs of life: .316 with 2 HR and 3 SB in last 10 games. 69..5% contact rate remains the concern.

15 Jacoby Ellsbury BOS OF 8-for-20 in his last 5 games. .296/.379/.373 in AAA so far....25 SB on the year.

43 Gorkys Hernandez DET OF 6-for-14 in his last 3 games. Already 26 SB and a solid 84% contact rate. Will power be there though?

44 Wladimir Balentien SEA OF Great start, but June hasn't been kind to him - .184 with no homers. 12:12 K:BB for June is solid.

49 Jeff Clement SEA C Signs of life - 2 multi-HR games this month and he's walked six times and struck out five in 10 games.

6 Clay Buchholz BOS SP Get this: 2 ER or less in his last 10 starts, 1.29 K/I. AAA has to be coming soon.

17 Jacob McGee TAM SP Season-high 11 K (5.2 IP) last time out. Right there with Kershaw among A-ball pitchers.

18 Michael Bowden BOS SP Guess he's human: 3-10-8-8-1-2 in his last start. Let's see how he rebounds from that.

38 Andrew Sonnanstine TAM SP 10 K performance in impressive 2nd start. 15:0 K:BB in two starts. Nice sleeper talent.

42 Ian Kennedy NYY SP 1.29 ERA In 10 High-A starts got him promoted to AA - 3.27 ERA and 14:2 K:BB in 11 IP there.

National League

1 Justin Upton ARI OF For the year: .420 OBP, 13 HR, 13 SB. 0.57 EYE is fine as is 79% contact rate.

11 Colby Rasmus STL OF .340 in May but .188 in June so far. That's what you get from a 20 year-old in AA. Great talent still.

12 Fernando Martinez NYM OF After a .324 May, he's hitting just .211 in June. Did hit HR #3 on Tuesday however.

13 Jay Bruce CIN OF .311 in June, but no homers for the month yet and his 0.33 EYE is a negative.

32 Eric Patterson CHC 2B .310/.367/.509 with 9 HR and 9 SB but DeRosa is playing well in Chicago as well.

24 Max Scherzer ARI SP 2006 top pick of Arizona signed late, but team is glad to have him. 7 perfect innings, 13 K on Wed.

32 Josh Outman PHI SP Last 6 starts: 0.98 ERA, 43 K in 36.2 IP. 4.3 BB/9 could use some improvement.

33 Donald Veal CHC SP Back on track? 2.76 ERA in his last three starts (19:5 K:BB). ERA still 6.00 for the year.

34 Kyle Drabek PHI SP Will miss at least another 2 starts with elbow inflammation.

50 Kevin Mulvey NYM SP Still rolling...7 IP, 1 ER in last start. Nice recovery from previous outing (6 ER, 5 BB).
