Starting last Monday the Daily Fantasy Fix moved to myfantasyfix.com. At our new home, we're offering additional content geared towards the daily fantasy industry, including more broad-based strategy articles on concepts like bankroll management, roster construction for game-type, etc. The content provided at our new home is subscription only and we sincerely hope you will join us. It has always been our intention to be a premium content service provider and we hope during our extended two-month free trial we've helped earned your support going forward. Below is just a small sampling of today's Daily Fix article, you can read the full article over at myfantasyfix.com. You can register today: HERE
Some of today's top plays include reliable standouts such as Prince Fielder and Clayton Kershaw...but it's Nelson Cruz, Nick Swisher and Yovani Gallardo who could really help you bring home the top prize today!

Before we get into today's recommendations, it is important to remind everyone to understand your scoring format and the pricing of the individual players on the site you're playing. These vary from site to site and all daily sites price their players differently, which could make someone a must start on one site but not another. It is also important to double check starting lineups as news often breaks after this column is written. In the space below I will break down the best plays by position and make notes as to which type of formats to utilize players. If you are new to the daily fantasy baseball scene, there are daily fantasy websites which offer one day contests. These contests are mostly salary cap games where you can take any players you want as long as you stay under the cap and meet the positional requirements and all are points-based (not roto). Please feel free to e-mail me at mleone@fantistics.com if you have any further questions regarding daily fantasy baseball.
Weather: Keep an Eye On: LAA-BAL (60-70% chance of rain and scattered thunderstorms throughout the evening).
Twitter: If you can, it is a good idea to follow both me (https://twitter.com/leonem4444) and Drew (https://twitter.com/DrewDinkmeyer) on Twitter. We often post updated thoughts as lineup and weather information becomes known.
NOTE: There are some names listed in the FIX today that have let us down a few times over the past week. I understand this can be frustrating, but the key is to remain objective and play the guys that have the highest probability of success. It just happens that some of the hitters with the best matchups (ahem, Rangers) have been guys who have burned us a few times recently.
Catcher
Value Plays
Carlos Santana (CLE) - Santana is worse from the left side of the plate (.337 wOBA) than he is from the right side of the plate (.384 wOBA). However, that number is still okay and with the rest of the matchup being pretty enticing and Santana relatively cheap, I like him as a value play. He is hitting in one of the best hitter's park in Texas, and opposing pitcher Josh Lindblom has been terrible against LHB since 2011 (.400 wOBA, 1.83 HR/9 allowed to LHB in 39.1 IP). It's also nice that Santana is a switch hitter which makes it more difficult relative to some splits specialists for him to be neutralized when the game gets into the bullpen.
Outfield
Top Plays
Nelson Cruz (TEX) - Cruz certainly brings some risk to a top play as he strikes out a lot (19% against LHP) and opposing pitcher Scott Kazmir has struck out 20.4% of RHB. Still, there is way too much upside to not list Cruz here. He has a remarkable .420 wOBA and .993 OPS against LHP since 2011. At home against LHP, Cruz currently has a 1.037 OPS this year, had an 1.107 OPS last year and had a 1.250 OPS in 2011. He faces Scott Kazmir who has allowed a .407 wOBA and 1.89 HR/9 to RHB this year. Cruz has a nice price for a top play on StarStreet ($5,500).
Starting Pitcher
Top Plays
Hisashi Iwakuma (SEA) - Iwakuma is by far the biggest favorite today (-230) pitching at home against the Astros. He's grown to be quite expensive on a lot of sites. While the ERA is understated, Iwakuma is mostly legit, posting a superb 6.08 K/BB ratio with a slight GB tilt 46.4 GB%. With those numbers, pitching in his big home park, having a good shot at a win and facing an Astros team that leads the MLB in K% against RHP (25.7%) and is 27th in wOBA (.295), I'm willing to pay up for Iwakuma.

I agree. I loved the addition of the daily fantasy baseball fix. Just enhanced the value of the relatively high subscription fee. Returning next year will be a tough call.
