Some of today's top plays include reliable standouts such as Troy Tulowitzki and Dustin Pedroia...but it's Yasmani Grandal, Chase Headley and Norichika Aoki who could really help you bring home the top prize today!

Before we get into today's recommendations, it is important to remind everyone to understand your scoring format and the pricing of the individual players on the site you're playing. These vary from site to site and all daily sites price their players differently, which could make someone a must start on one site but not another. It is also important to double check starting lineups as news often breaks after this column is written. In the space below I will break down the best plays by position and make notes as to which type of formats to utilize players. If you are new to the daily fantasy baseball scene, there are daily fantasy websites which offer one day contests. These contests are mostly salary cap games where you can take any players you want as long as you stay under the cap and meet the positional requirements and all are points-based (not roto). Please feel free to e-mail me at mleone@fantistics.com if you have any further questions regarding daily fantasy baseball.
Weather: As of now, the only worrisome game is NYM-WAS, which is calling for rain and thunderstorms most of the evening.
Twitter: If you can, it is a good idea to follow both me (https://twitter.com/leonem4444) and Drew (https://twitter.com/DrewDinkmeyer) on Twitter. We often post updated thoughts as lineup and weather information becomes known.
Catcher
Best Value Play
Yasmani Grandal (SD) - Grandal is a great value play tonight hitting in Coors Field. He faces Jhoulys Chacin who has allowed a .344 wOBA and 1.22 HR/9 to LHB. Grandal has hit RHP well on his young career, posting a .352 wOBA in 182 PA's. The power is not where we would like it to be (.112 ISO), but his EYE (1.07) indicates there is some upside for Grandal from this side of the plate. As usual, the Rockies game in Coors Field has the highest total on the day (9.5). Grandal is an awesome play on our featured DFS site of the day, DraftStreet, priced at just $5,736.
Third Base
Value Plays
Juan Francisco (MIL) - Francisco is a fun, super cheap play for your Utility spot on DraftStreet if you need cap room elsewhere. He is priced at just $4,025 and is facing Tyler Cloyd (.403 wOBA, 1.57 HR/9 allowed to LHB) at home in Milwaukee. Francisco is definitely a hit or miss type of guy but his .212 ISO against RHP reveals the upside he has for at a cheap price going against a bad pitcher in a favorable park.
Outfield
Best Value Plays
Norichika Aoki (MIL) - Aoki is underpiced on DraftStreet ($6,679) for facing a RHP in general. Specifically this RHP, Tyler Cloyd, is terrible against LHB making Aoki one of the best value plays in the outfield. Aoki has a solid career .349 wOBA against RHP.
Starting Pitcher
Top Plays
Gio Gonzalez (WAS) - Gio got off to a slow start but has now posted quality starts in 5 of his last 6 starts. He's a heavy favorite at home today against a Mets team that does not hit LHP well. The Mets are 27th in MLB with a .283 wOBA against LHP including a 21.8 K% that is the 7th highest mark in MLB.
