Mickey Moniak is hitting like he's never hit before & four hitters heating up the floor. Depending upon the needs of your team, these 5 hitters could be good targets to sell "high" or perhaps scoop up if an owner in your league has dropped one of these fiery furnaces.
Brandon Nimmo OF NYM
Hope your team has been finding Nimmo as he struck 5 dingers on his way to a .370 BA along with 3 SB over the last two weeks. His hard hit rate has been steady at 86% with a nice 92 MPH Average Exit Velocity. You could sell high here if you need pitching, as finding Nimmo this hot is not likely to last, though he is a solid OF in any format. His lower than usual .315 OBP is something to monitor, if not another reason to sell high while he's hot tuna.
Christian Yelich OF MIL
Remember this guy? He was pretty good back in the video room accessible, pre-broken kneecap era, in fact he was basically Barry Bonds. Now, we get flashes and Yelich is currently flashing the whole crowd. 5 HR, 4 SB with a .380 BA over the last month will play in any era. His exit velo average is 92 MPH and his Hard Hit Rate hovers around 50%. Yelich's famous eye seems to have left him, however, with a surprisingly poor 31% Whiff Rate. Though you may flinch as his heat is likely to continue, considering injury history and his newly found poor strike zone control, I'm gonna go ahead and suggest you sell high on this guy.
Marcus Semien 2B TEX
The savvy vet has StatCast confused: decent 37% Sweet Spot Rate and 24% Chase Rate points to patience and good contact. On the flipside, his Hard Hit Rate is in the 24th Percentile and a low Barrel Rate around 7%. In the world of actual achievements, however, Semien sat at .322 on the month with 4 HR and 4 SB among a quiet 12-game hit streak. Hopefully you rode that streak before his sudden 0-9 cooldown, but don't fret, you know Semien can hit but you need to ride the wave (and the subsequent crash). Good buy low candidate if you're hurting at MI.
Nick Kurtz 1B OAK
Five long-balls in the last two weeks for the much-hyped prospect and the power appears to quite operational. 15% Barrel Rate and 92 MPH Average Exit velocity for the Sacramento slugger should make fantasy friends smile with relief, especially if you bid high with your FAAB or reached on the waiver wire priority for Colonel Kurtz. Ride the river of swat as he should be secure with ABs for the Athletics. Sell high at your own risk, but if you can score solid SP or something you really need, now might be the time.
Mickey Moniak OF COL
Two weeks, five Homers for the Mick. That's 11 on the season and despite the inexplicability of his consistent playing time, the counting numbers are piling up, 27 Runs scored and 27 RBI aren't Mickey Mouse numbers. What's under the hood? I'm not even gonna look, cuz obviously they won't be good...ok, the Barrel Rate is passable with 11% and the yet-to-be-substantiated Bat Speed Average is 74 MPH. The long and short of it? Sell high, sell now. But if you're in NL-Only and nobody wants him but you, you must have wished upon a star.
