American League

3 Evan Longoria TAM 3B A Just .265 in AAA, but 11:12 K:BB and .531 SLG make up for it. Starting TB 3B next year.

4 Cameron Maybin DET OF A- Gets the surprise call after brief AA stint and takes the Rocket deep. Still looks shaky though.

5 Brandon Wood LAA 3B A- 31:9 K:BB since beginning of July, but at least org doesn't emphasize OBP or patience.

6 Reid Brignac TAM SS A- 8 HR through end of June but 8 since. AVG still just .255 but should be TB SS next year at some pt.

10 Matt Wieters BAL C A- Wieters signing quickly makes this an interesting Orioles' system. He should move quickly.

1 Phil Hughes NYY SP A+ 3 ER over 11 innings in his last two starts. May not be a stud until 08, but it will happen.

2 Clay Buchholz BOS SP A 3 ER over 6 IP in MLB debut but it was a one-shot deal. He'll be back soon though.

6 David Price TB SP A 2007 #1 overall pick. Just enormous upside and could hit the majors early in 2008.

8 Jacob McGee TAM SP A- Rebounded nicely after rocky AA debut. Last start: 6.1-1-0-0-2-7. Look for him in 2008.

9 Wade Davis TAM SP A- 9 ER in 6.2 innings over last two starts, but consider that he wasn't even on this list in April.

National League

20 Matt Antonelli SD 2B B .235 August is his first down month. Wearing down perhaps but still 3 HR and 5 SB this month.

23 Chris Marrero WAS OF B Just a .674 OPS so far in August but will still see AA as a 20 year-old next year.

24 Fernando Martinez NYM OF B Supposed to miss the rest of the year with a hand injury but appeared in an 8/16 box score. We'll see.

27 Josh Vitters CHC 3B B+ Top HS hitter in 2007 draft but doesn't turn 18 until later this month so he's a ways off.

28 Eric Patterson CHC OF B 5-for-25 since returning to AAA. He'll be back in Sept and competing for 2B or OF job in 2008.

4 Clayton Kershaw LAD SP A 6.48 ERA and 7:8 K:BB in first 2 AA starts then six scoreless two-hit innings in his last outing.

11 Max Scherzer ARI SP A- 4.19 ERA in 11 AA starts is a disappointment, but focus instead on his 11.2 K/9 this year.

13 Franklin Morales COL SP A- 1 ER in 5.1 innings against the Dodgers in his debut. Should be around for a long time.

17 Johnny Cueto CIN SP B+ AA is his 3rd level this year and he has a 49:7 K:BB threre. 2008 rotation candidate.

21 Troy Patton HOU SP B+ Should still get Sept callup despite 10 ER over last two starts. 22 in Sept.
