First off, I wanted to thank everyone who read and commented on my blog post regarding the Diamond Challenge. I think the comments are an indication that people really loved that style of fantasy game and are eager to see it live on.
On that note, I have some good news. Fantistics’ founder Anthony Perri plans to move forward with a salary cap fantasy baseball game for this season! In fact, he is working on the salaries as we speak. It will be a $90 million salary cap game. As Anthony pointed out to me, this figure is more appropriate than the $30 million used by previous salary cap baseball games because it represents the MLB Average Team Salary. Fantistics expects to have a representative website up later next week, so be sure to check back for more details in the coming days. Oh, and one more thing, are you ready for some baseball?

when can we expect the D.C. game to be available for our perusal ?

Can 2011 Fantistics subscribers expect a discount on the entry fee? (In my case, 54.95) Every little bit helps with all these games being offered.

I've been playing Fanball's salary cap games for 10 years with a group of friends. I nearly jumped through the ceiling this morning when I learned Fantistics was going to offer this. Then I saw the entry fee. $225? Are you kidding me? I'd pay up $50 or $60 perhaps, but this is insane.

Its a flat entry fee. So without transaction fees it actually works out to be much cheaper over a full season than the diamond challenge was.

$225 is ridiculous. I was considering this as well until seeing the price. You have lost another person. It looks like Fantrax it is.

I'm not sure what game I'll play yet, but to complain about $225 is downright illogical. Most people were in $140 Fanball (Entry + 12 purchases) before the season even began. It would take all of about five or weeks to spend another $100 in transaction fees. Even those who didn't pre-pay for purchases would burn through $225 by early June.
There is no question that this is the better "deal." But maybe Fantistics should have an option to do transaction fees, for those who don't get the concept.

We're all ears, rather than being exclusionary we want to be inclusionary. If there is enough support to have a variation of both, we'll definitely consider that in the days ahead.

225 all-inclusive is dirt cheap; a bargain.

You guys are missing the point. $225 INCLUDES all purchases and lineup changes. This is probably half of what the DC cost us.

1 question. Will we receive a discount if we play 3 different teams ? If so, how much. Just would like to know what the bottom line is. Fantrax offers a $100 discount for playing 3 teams, as did Fanball last year. Could be the difference between playing 1 and 3 teams.
