Prospect Spreadsheet Updates - June 30, 2011

David Regan

Note that this is just a sample of the the 70 or so prospect updates you get each week as a subscriber.

National League

1 Bryce Harper WAS OF A+ Mini-slump has OPS down to a paltry .990. We think he'll be okay though.

5 Brandon Belt SF 1B A Getting close to a return from a wrist injury. Given the state of the Giants' offense, they'll find room.

21 Wilin Rosario COL C B+ .212 with 0.25 EYE in June. This is his second go-around in AA, so very disappointing.

22 Billy Hamilton CIN SS B+ .292 with .312 OBP in June is huge progress. Amazing 56 SB already.

37 Yonder Alonso CIN 1B B .216 in last 10 games but has shown enough to put him in position for a call-up this year.

1 Julio Teheran ATL SP A Having a great month - 1.00 ERA and 31:2 K:BB in 36 innings. Ready to return any time.

2 Shelby Miller STL SP A 5 AA starts and he's yet to allow more than 2 ER. Could be in team's 2012 Opening Day rotation.

13 Jordan Lyles HOU SP B+ Solid 26:6 K:BB in first 30 innings, so he'll stick around for awhile, likely the rest of the year.

15 Matt Harvey NYM SP B+ 2.37 ERA gets him AA promotion - 1st start - 4.2-9-4-4-2-4.

17 Zack Wheeler SF SP B+ Needs to work on consistency in his control, but overall a great year - 10. K/9.

American League
2 Mike Trout LAA OF A+ .363 with 13 SB in June. Likely a September callup at best barring an injury.

10 Wil Myers KC OF A- .288/.374/.417. Lack of pop not a concern at all given he's just 20 and holding his own in AA.

11 Jason Kipnis CLE 2B A- .948 OPS in June and will be the next Indians callup with Chisenhall beating him to the bigs.

26 Dee Gordon LAD SS B+ Fast and fun to watch, but bottom line - .239/.260/.289. Needs a weight program.

30 Grant Green OAK SS B+ .333 in last 10 games and could be in line for 2012 starting job.

5 Jacob Turner DET SP A- 7-5-3-3-2-8 in last start and seems to have more K upside than Porcello.

6 Martin Perez TEX SP A- Had been struggling, but 6-3-3-2-2-5 in last outing was a nice effort.

7 Jake Odorizzi KC SP A- 6-3-1-1-2-4 last time out and a 97:22 K:BB in 72.1 innings. AA has to be coming soon.

8 Drew Pomeranz CLE SP A- 1.38 ERA in 5 June starts and should be on the verge of a promotion.

9 Manny Banuelos NYY SP A- 3 good, 2 bad starts in
June = 5.96 ERA. Consistency is king here, and he's yet to show it.
