Prospect Spreadsheet Updates - July 7, 2011

David Regan

As a reminder, this is just a small sampling of hte 70+ prospect updates you'll get each week as a subscriber.

National League

1 Bryce Harper WAS OF A+ .977 OPS with 19 SB but now the real test comes in AA. 2 hits in first game there.

16 Yasmani Grandal CIN C B+ Gets the predicted bump to AA - .333 in first 36 at-bats there.

17 Paul Goldschmidt ARI 1B B+ Just .222 in last 10 G, but overall 25 HR and a 1.065 OPS. Promotion to MLB could come in July.

42 Collin Cowgill ARI OF B .423 in June and overall a
nice .366/.439/.578 line with 25 SB.

43 Jedd Gyorko SD 3B B 1.068 OPS gets him bumped to AA. 2 hits in first game there.

18 Carlos Martinez STL SP B+ 2.33 ERA in 8 GS gets him quick promotion. Mammoth upside due to K potential.

19 Randall Delgado ATL SP B+ 3.21 ERA and 14:2 K:BB in 14 IP in 2 GS since return from spot MLB start.

20 Arodyz Vizcaino ATL SP B+ 3.76 ERA and 39:12 K:BB in 38.1 innings since AA promotion back in May.

27 Brad Peacock WAS SP B 2.14 ERA and 120:21 K:BB in 92.2 innings. Not bad for a 41st round pick.

28 Jarrod Parker ARI SP B 5-4-1-1-0-1 last time out. 21:13 K:BB in 18 June innings and looking more like a 2012 guy.

American League

2 Mike Trout LAA OF A+ .375 in last 10 games and OPS up to .959 with 28 SB. OF still too crowded in Anaheim.

10 Jason Kipnis CLE 2B A- .400 avg in last 10 games and a .914 OPS overall. Getting close I think.

11 Wil Myers KC OF A- .786 OPS is somewhat disappointing, but given age/level, I'm not worried.

19 Michael Choice OAK OF B+ HRs coming in bunches (20 total now) and CT% was 77% in June vs. 68% in May.

35 Nick Castellanos DET 3B B .375 in June, .438 to start July. Overall: .306/.345/.441. Power should come, 0.24 EYE should improve.

11 Kyle Gibson MIN SP B+ More hits than IP in each of last 6 starts. Close to big league ready but not ace type potential.

37 Taijuan Walker SEA SP B 56 innings, 72:25 K:BB. Could shoot up this list quickly, though he sort of is doing that already.

40 Liam Hendriks MIN SP B 2.07 ERA in June and more of the same in first start of July. 2.70 ERA overall.

42 Neil Ramirez TEX SP B 85:33 K:BB in 76.1 innings. Could be up in Texas once he refines his command a bit.

50 Kyle Weiland BOS SP B 2.36 ERA in June and could be looking at a callup in the next month.
