Jacob Misiorowski (SP - Brewers)
Misiorowski allowed 1 ER on 4 hits over 6 innings, striking out 12. Coming off his worst start last time out he righted the ship in an big way with a leadoff home run to Shohei Ohtani being his only blemish. The 12 Ks were a career high. He entered the game having allowed 10 walks in 19 innings so it was impressive to see him handle the Dodgers lineup with ease as he threw 19 first pitch strikes and generated 21 swinging strikes. He will take a 2.81 ERA into his first All Star Break and is looking like and absolutely fantasy game changer.
Cam Schlitter (SP - Yankees)
Schlitter officially will be promoted and make his MLB Debut tomorrow for the Yankees vs the Mariners. The 6'6 righty has pitched well in the minors this year with a 2.38 ERA in AA and a 3.80 mark in AAA. Over 5 starts at AAA he has racked up 35 strikeouts in 23 innings and with a 5 pitch mix has ranked among the Yankees top 5 prospects this year. With the 5th spot in the Yankees rotation up for grabs due to injuries Schlitter could be in line for multiple starts, and it is worth keeping an eye on this one. With the All Star break looming it might be a bit before he starts again after Wednesdays game, however.
Cedenne Rafaela (OF/SS - Red Sox)
Rafaela continued his recent hit streak going 1 for 3 with a 2B and 2 RBIs. Entering Tuesday's game Rafaela has gone 9-24 with 8 extra base bits in July. He has always played great defense and has shown offensive flashes the past two years, but may finally be putting it together with the bat this year. His K rate has declined three years in a row and a 47% hard hit rate and 13% barrel rate are by far the best marks of his career. Rafaela hit 15 home runs and stole 19 bases last year and is set to best those career highs this year as he already has 12 home runs and 11 steals this year.
Hunter Goodman (C/OF - Rockies)
Goodman went 2-4 with his 17th home run of the season. A sore hamstring sidelined him for a handful of games last week and he has received some additional rest days recently but the All Star has had a great season. With a 50% hard hit rate Goodman crushed the ball and is finally delivering on that promise that showed him launch 30+ homers in the minor leagues. For the non believers out there Goodman actually has a significantly higher OPS on the road (.902) then at Coors Field (.765) showing he can do damage everywhere.
Nick Loftin (2B/OF - Royals)
Loftin hit a go ahead homer Tuesday night and hit a walk off single; it was the second day in a row he has homered. With just a .193 average on the season there may not be a lot to say about him from a fantasy perspective but he could be a name to watch. He was a .295 hitter in AAA with 39 walks against 22 strikeouts and 12 stolen bases and overall has a solid track record in the minors. While the hits haven't exactly fallen in the big leagues, KC needs outfield production so could pick up starts if he keeps hitting. He has played all over the field as well and depending what league you play in he may already be 2B, 3B and of. I would keep an eye on him through the trade deadline and if KC doesn't add an OF bat he keeps hitting he could be a sneaky add.
