Prospect Spreadsheet Updates - April 17, 2008

David Regan

American League

2 Evan Longoria TAM 3B A The wait is over. Aybar's injury opens the door and Longoria should be able to stick in Tampa.

5 Matt Wieters BAL C A- Only 12-for-24 with 3 HR in first 10 games with 3:10 K:BB. Sept. cup of coffee looking possible.

6 Jacoby Ellsbury BOS OF A- .424 OBP thanks to 3:7 K:BB. Still, needs a Crisp trade for fantasy value to skyrocket.

10 Daric Barton OAK 1B A- CT% just 69%. Will need to do better despite fine 19% BB%. Also 0 HR in 54 AB.

35 Carlos Triunfel SEA SS B Off to a 2-for-22 start, but look at age vs. level and upside more than stats with him.

15 Gio Gonzalez OAK SP A- 2.25 ERA in 2 GS. Can be erratic at times, but upside is No. 2 starter.

16 Fautino de los Santos OAK SP A- 3.94 ERA through 3 GS. 20:6 K:BB in 16 innings. He's going to be a good one.

18 Chris Tillman BAL SP B+ Nice rebound after poor first start - five hitless innings on Saturday. O's did great job in Bedard deal.

20 Adam Miller CLE SP B+ Blister problem this spring has delayed his debut. Hopefully he's not the J.D. Drew of pitchers.

22 Trevor Cahill OAK SP B+ Just a great start - 12-7-1-1-1-12 in first two starts. May be underrating him in this spot.

National League

21 Angel Villalona SF 3B A- First HR was a GS. .273/.324/.455 is mighty impressive for a 17 y.o. in full-season ball.

28 Fernando Martinez NYM OF B+ Very slow start, but a four-game / six hits stretch could mean he's heating up. Hitting for more power.

36 Bryan Anderson STL C B Molina blocks him, but Anderson is .343/.368/.457 in 35 at-bats after 3 hits and a HR on Monday.

38 Brandon Jones ATL OF B .250 with no homers. Will need to do far better to push Diaz in second half.

39 Neil Walker PIT 3B B Just .194, but six of nine hits are for extra bases. We'll see him in August I believe.

39 James McDonald LAD SP B Last 2 GS: 9.1-4-2-2-4-13. Candidate for mid-season call-up along with Kershaw.

41 Jamie Garcia STL SP B Knocked around a bit (13 H in 9 IP), but we like the 11 K's.

42 Chris Volstad FLA SP B Total of 9 AA starts under his belt, but he's still on the verge. Like to see more dominance (just 4 K).

43 Colin Balester WAS SP B Tossed a six-inning one-hitter in last start. More dominance (6:3 K:BB in 10 1/3) would be nice.

47 Tommy Hanson ATL SP B Off to a great start if you like 20:3 K:BB's and 0.00 ERAs in 11 innings that is.
