Kyle Schwarber, OF, PHI
Schwarber's summer of swat continued on Tuesday night as he went deep for the 12th time in July, giving him 37 on the season. The three exhibition pitches Schwarber hit for homers to win the All-Star game don't matter, but don't tell him that, because he has come back on fire since the heroics at the midsummer classic. He's hitting .326 with seven homers and 17 RBI in 11 games post All-Star break. Kyle Schwarber is the embodiment of the modern hitter. He strikes out a ton, but stays in the zone (20.7% Chase%, 90th percentile), takes walks at an elite clip (15.5%, 97th percentile), and absolutely punishes the ball when he makes contact. Schwarber's 60.5% HardHit% ranks in the 100th percentile, while his 77.1 Bat Speed and 94.6 Avg Exit Velo rank in the 99th. The result: .408 wOBA (3rd), 164 wRC+ (4th), 39 Run Value (3rd), and 37 HR (3rd).
Cody Bellinger, OF, NYY
Bellinger went 1 for 3 with a three-run homer and a walk on Tuesday night. The homer was his 20th of the campaign, which already eclipses the 18 he hit in 569 plate appearances with the Cubs last season. In his 9th major league season and first in the Bronx, Belly has improved his contact numbers dramatically, and the results have been positive. With a career-low 18.5% Whiff%, he unsurprisingly owns a career-high 89.5% Z-Contact% and 83.7% Contact%. With his emphasis on contact, Bellinger isn't hitting that ball extremely hard, but his .282/.335/.513 triple slash line is above his career mark, and his .232 ISO is his highest since his MVP season in 2019.
Andrew Vaughn, 1B, MIL
Vaughn went 3 for 6 with a homer and six RBI in the Brewers' clash with the Cubs on Tuesday night. The 27-year-old has been a new man since being traded to Milwaukee last month. In 193 plate appearances with the White Sox this season, he hit .189 with five home runs and a 43 wRC+. In his 57 plate appearances since joining the Brew Crew, he's hitting .375 with five home runs and a wRC+ over 200. To further demonstrate his improved approach, he has already walked as many times in his 15 games with the Brewers (7) as he did in his 48 with the Sox. In his first four years in Chicago, Vaughn was decent, but he was never able to put it all together. A falloff is coming, but with eight hits and three homers over his last four games, Vaughn is swinging it right now.
Gunnar Henderson, SS, BAL
Henderson went 4 for 8 with a homer, a double, and four RBI in the Os' double-dip sweep of the Jays on Tuesday. The 24-year-old has been the model of consistency month-to-month after the chilly start in March/April. He hit .228 with a .290 wOBA across 97 PAs over the season's first month. Since then, he hasn't seen those numbers under .275 or .350, respectively, over a calendar month. Coming off a career year in 2024 in which he hit 38 homers, Henderson's 12 this season are underwhelming. Still, with a 92.7 Avg Exit Velo (92nd percentile) and 52.2% HardHit% (91st percentile), he's hitting the ball with authority, which has led to a solid .353 wOBA and .289 xBA.
Kyle Manzardo, 1B, CLE
Manzardo went 3 for 4 with a pair of homers and three RBI to extend his hitting streak to eight games. The 25-year-old has shown the ability to slug this season; he now has 18 home runs and 46 RBI across 336 plate appearances. With a 36.9% LA Sweet-Spot% (76th percentile) and 12.1% Barrel% (73rd percentile), the ball comes off of Manzardo's bat optimally. The problem isn't the power; his .238 ISO speaks to that, but his contact ability lacks. His 27.0% Whiff% (32nd percentile) and 25.4% K% (24th percentile) have produced a .235 average and .225 xBA that ranks in the 12th percentile.
