Schuyler Dombroske: has been a Yankees fan since the early '80's, and has absolutely no remorse about the Boss spending money since he believes, that in no way guarantees any type of success by itself. Schuyler has been playing some form of fantasy baseball since 1987, switching from play-by-mail PTP board leagues to roto-style ball in around 1993. Schuyler still plays Diamond Mind (sort of 2nd generation PTP), roto, Diamond Kings, and STATS Diamond Legends on a reasonably consistent basis. Schuyler lives in Syracuse, NY with his wife, Deena, son Griffin (18), and daughter Kendall (16). Schuyler has been a financial advisor, now with Cadaret Grant, since 1995.
Corbin Burnes (SP - MIL) - Burnes had his streak end at 24 innings without allowing an earned run (interestingly enough, Kwang Hyun Kim got to that same mark with his 7 shutout innings in the 1st game of the...
Brandon Woodruff (SP - MIL) - Woodruff had mostly validated our high ranking of him (SP22) through his first 9 starts, but #10 was an absolute gem on Friday as he allowed an Ian Happ single over 7 innings and...
DJ Stewart (OF - BAL) - Man, is DJ Stewart on a heater. After a 3-3 day Wednesday, Stewart is 8-14 with 5 HR over the past 4 games (he's also walked twice), tallying 8 R and 7 RBI over...
Mike Clevinger (SP - SD) - Clevinger heads to San Diego in a great deal for the Padres, coming over with Greg Allen for a whole bunch of stuff the Padres didn't need, including a trio of prospects ranked between...
Brandon Belt (1B - SF) - It figures, that with a career as unfortunate as I perceive Belt's to have been, the one year that San Francisco is playing as a plus offensive ballpark (due to certain internal configurations in...
Wilmer Flores (1B/2B - SF) - Flores is scorching right now, going 7-11 with 3 HR and 10 RBI over the past three games. The thing with Flores is that everyone has this partial misconception of him as a lefty-masher.....he...
Kyle Freeland (SP - COL) - Let's get it out of the way up front: Freeland is due some major regression, with a strand rate and BABIP that are eye-popping right now. That said, this guy looks like a completely...
Fernando Tatis Jr - Tatis looks bigger to me this season, which stands to reason since the kid is probably still growing at barely 21 years of age. That came to mind when I watched him hit his 3rd homer...
Howie Kendrick (1B/2B/OF/DH - WAS) - Between the opt-out of Ryan Zimmerman and the addition of a DH in the NL, Howie Kendrick's value has gotten a huge boost since we spoke to you last. Kendrick has been phenomenal since...
Mitch Garver (C - MIN) - I feel like Garver is still quite a bit undervalued despite his breakout 2019 campaign. He's going in round 11 on average right now, a round or so after Willson Contreras, which I find...
LOS ANGELES ANGELS: As promised, Dylan Bundy! - There are a few possible gems down in the SP100+ category so far this spring, and one of those is absolutely Dylan Bundy. Let's check off the positives: improved team from run...
LOS ANGELES ANGELS: When does the anointed show up? - The question on everybody's minds regarding the Angels is: when will we see Jo Adell? The consensus "top handful" prospect would likely already have been up if not for an...
Paul Goldschmidt (1B - STL) - Goldschmidt hit a couple of homers earlier this week to get to 33 on the year, and he's hit a solid 261/344/529 in the second half. Still, you can't help but feel a bit...
J.D. Davis (3B - NYM) - Davis continues to impress, picking up 3 more hits on Monday to bring his line up to 306/369/515 on the year. He's been phenomenal since the break, hitting .328 and slugging .559 with improved...
Cavan Biggio (2B - TOR) - Biggio is 8-21 with 7 R, 7 BB, 2 SB, 1 2B, 1 3B, and 1 HR over the past 6 games. 221/356/399 through 375 PAs doesn't look like much, but there are a...
Nico Hoerner (SS - CHC) - Hoerner started his MLB career with two singles and a triple in his first 4 ABs, scoring twice and picking up 4 ribbies against the Padres. Despite the debut, the 22 year old shouldn't...
Nick Solak (2B/3B - TEX) - Nick Solak has hit very well since coming up to the majors, going 333/451/524 in 13 games with 3 2B, a 3B, a HR, and a SB. Between the hitting environment and the obvious...
Joshua Rojas (OF/IF - ARI) - The D-Backs brought up Josh Rojas Monday and immediately slotted him into the #6 spot playing LF against the Rockies. Rojas singled twice in 4 ABs, showing some of the contact ability that he...
Marcus Semien (SS - OAK) - After being remarkably consistent (and mediocre) over his age 24-27 seasons, Semien has made huge strides this year to become a very solid offensive player. The past two years have seen him cut his...
Christian Vazquez (C - BOS) - Vazquez doubled and homered against the Dodgers on Friday, giving him 15 homers for the season as he's taken control of the catching position in Boston. He has 5 homers in the past 8...
Noah Syndergaard (SP - NYM) - Thor moved to 6-4 with a 5 inning, 10 baserunner, 4 ER performance against the Phillies on Saturday, and with only 2 dominant performances in his last 10, it's clear to me that there's...
Drew Pomeranz (SP -SF) - Last 4 starts for Pomeranz in that cavernous home park (including Saturday vs. ARI): 20 IP, 18 H, 2 ER, 8 BB, 30 K. Look, Pomeranz makes me as nervous as the rest of you,...
Omar Narvaez (C - SEA) - Narvaez homered again on Friday in the midst of a 3-hit night, and the 27 year old is now hitting 284/363/468 on the year with a career-best 10 bombs. It's distinctly possible that Narvaez...
David Bote (2B/3B - CHC) - Bote had a huge game Wednesday, going 4-4 with a double, homer, and 7 RBIs in the 9-8 win over Colorado. His hard contact rate of 42.3% is surely going up after that outburst,...
Carlos Santana (1B - CLE) - Santana singled and homered Saturday, and he's now reached base in 18 straight while leading the team in almost every offensive category. You can tell how much respect Santana is garnering, and also how...
Justin Smoak (1B - TOR) - Smoak is a strong buy low candidate for me, as he is hitting just 220/376/400 despite showing some extremely strong underlying stats. His hard contact rate has skyrocketed to 52.3% (and his exit velo...
Frankie Montas (SP - OAK) - Montas was terrific against Detroit Friday, coming within an out of a complete-game while allowing 4 hits and 2 runs. Montas fanned 10 without walking a batter, which illustrates the two major improvements that...
Josh Bell (1B - PIT) - Bell is making the star turn here in 2019, at least as far as I can tell. The 26 year old doubled and hit his 9th homer of the year on Wednesday, a massive...
Mitch Garver (C - MIN) - Garver had a huge day Saturday against the Yankees, going 3-5 with his 6th homer of the season, and he's now hitting 333/387/719 playing around half of the time. Perhaps most interestingly, the relatively...
John Means (SP - BAL) - Means made his third start of the year on Wednesday and was very effective, allowing just 4 hits and a run to the White Sox over 5 innings, walking 1 and fanning 6. Means...
Trevor Richards (SP - MIA) - Richards had such movement on his pitches Wednesday, he generated 21 swinging strikes over 108 pitches and walked five batters while fanning 7 in just 6 innings, allowing just one other baserunner on a...
Matt Moore (SP - DET) - Moore looked really strong again Saturday, allowing just a bunt single and nothing else through three innings while racking up three more K's without a walk on improved command and velocity both. Naturally, within...
Ian Desmond (1B/OF - COL) - It looks like Desmond is going to play every day again for the Rockies, this time in CF as Charlie Blackmon moves to a corner to save some wear and tear on his legs....
NEW YORK YANKEES: Johnny Lasagna to the rescue - It's looking more and more likely that the Yanks will open the season with both Domingo German and Jonathan Loaisiga (AKA: Johnny Lasagna) in the rotation, as Severino and Sabathia are...
Troy Tulowitzki, DJ Lemahieu, Tevor Cahill, Victor Robles, Yandy Diaz, Nick Pivetta, Julio Teheran, Mike Foltynewicz, Josh Harrison, Byron Buxton, Ryan Braun, Drew Pomeranz, Eloy Jimenez, Jesus Luzardo
Travis Shaw (2B/3B) MIL - Shaw hit his 31st HR on Sunday to tie his career-best from 2017, but with the emergence of Jesus Aguilar and the brilliance of Christian Yelich, Shaw has flown under the radar to an extent....
